All preparations have been completed at the Cox’s Bazar Central Shaheed Minar to observe the Great Victory Day on December 16 with due dignity and reverence. Cleaning, decorative lighting, and enhanced security arrangements at the monument and its surrounding areas have already been finalized.

According to sources, floral wreaths will be placed at the Shaheed Minar at 12:01 am, marking the first moment of Victory Day, to pay deep homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War. 

Representatives from the district administration, the police administration, various government and non-government offices, political parties, social and cultural organizations, and people from all walks of life will attend the programme.

In addition, a series of programmes has been scheduled throughout the day to commemorate the occasion. 

Law enforcement agencies have implemented additional security measures in and around the Shaheed Minar to ensure a smooth and peaceful observance of the national day.

An atmosphere of festivity and solemn remembrance now prevails across Cox’s Bazar city. 

As the nation marks the 54th anniversary of independence, the people of Cox’s Bazar stand ready to honour the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs who made victory possible.
