Tourist presence has increased at the Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach due to the weekly holiday. Despite the end of winter, the sea remains relatively calm, with its blue waters attracting tourists.

Red-and-yellow flags have been placed along the beach, indicating that swimming is safe under monitored conditions.

Most tourists are entering the water at Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha points. For safety, the Sea Safe Lifeguard authorities have requested that visitors follow specific guidelines.

Lifeguards have marked designated swimming zones within these three points, where they provide their services. Red-and-yellow or red flags clearly identify these areas. Visitors have been warned that swimming outside these marked zones can be dangerous.

Mohammad Osman Gani, supervisor and senior lifeguard of Sea Safe Lifeguard, said the sea is currently calm, though some areas have underwater holes or channels. He advised visitors to swim only within designated zones under lifeguard supervision to avoid accidents.

On Friday (April 10), low tide is expected at 10:16pm, while high tide begins at 2:56pm.

Authorities also cautioned that ignoring warning signals or lifeguard instructions could lead to serious accidents at any time.
