Artists have begun painting the premises of the Central Shaheed Minar in Cox’s Bazar to mark Bangladesh’s Independence Day, as preparations gather pace to present the site in a vibrant setting.

The painting activities started on Tuesday evening (March 24) under the management of the district administration, with participation from members of the Cox’s Bazar Art Club.

Through the artwork, artists are emphasizing the historical value of March 26, the spirit of the Liberation War, and various aspects of national pride across the Shaheed Minar premises.

The general secretary of Cox’s Bazar Art Club, Riazul Kabir Bibon, announced the initiative’s launch ahead of Independence Day. “We have started the painting work for March 26, Independence Day. We hope to complete it by Wednesday afternoon,” he said.

Organisers said the aim of the initiative is to create an aesthetic and meaningful environment for visitors to the Shaheed Minar on Independence Day.
