The Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team has resumed training—this time focusing on fitness rather than bat and ball—on the shores of Cox’s Bazar. After a brief rest following their return to the country, the players regrouped on May 8 for a fitness-based conditioning camp, with training sessions starting on May 9.

The camp, which is scheduled to run until May 18, has 15 players participating. Since no skill-based sessions involve bat or ball, the team’s coaching staff is not present. Instead, the squad is accompanied by a trainer and physiotherapist, focusing solely on physical conditioning.

Speaking about the program, team manager Golam Fayaz explained,
“This is a fitness-based conditioning camp. The players are doing various strength-building exercises, including running on sand and hills. Yesterday, they even ran in the sea. The sandy terrain here adds extra resistance, making the training more effective.”

He added, “The camp will continue until the 18th, and we’re scheduled to return on the 19th. The next tournament is planned, but the focus is on fitness, so the coaches aren’t here.

The beach and hillside environment of Cox’s Bazar offers a natural training ground that enhances strength and endurance, giving the cricketers a refreshing yet rigorous workout experience.
