Coconut is a favorite among many, and it is known for its numerous health benefits. While most people enjoy coconut water and its tender flesh, locals in some regions of Cox’s Bazar have a unique habit—you might be surprised to learn that they also eat the soft layer beneath the flesh. They claim it is not only delicious but also quite filling. Additionally, a widespread belief is that this soft inner shell helps with digestive issues.

Locals in the village of Goalia, located along the Marine Drive in Ramu, are particularly fond of eating this part of the coconut. It is a delicacy they truly enjoy.

The health benefits of coconut water are widely known—it is excellent for hydration, maintaining overall wellness, and even improving skin health. Doctors often recommend drinking it, not just in the summer but also during winter. A refreshing glass of coconut water rejuvenates the body and contributes to weight loss and overall vitality. However, the nutritional value of the soft coconut husk remains largely unknown to many.
