Cox’s Bazar sea beach is becoming ever more colorful these days. Alongside the endless blue waves, visitors are now greeted by the delicate beauty of blue lotus flowers being sold by local vendors.
The sight is enchanting — tourists stop in their tracks, some posing for photos, while others buy the blossoms as keepsakes for loved ones.
As winter approaches, the beach is drawing larger crowds of visitors. Taking advantage of the influx, local sellers have started offering these vibrant blue lotuses.
According to the vendors, the flowers are not locally grown but sourced from nearby districts by Cox’s Bazar’s flower traders and then supplied to beachside sellers. Each flower sells for around Tk 30 to Tk 40.
A visiting couple from Dhaka shared their delight, saying, “Holding this blue flower beside the blue sea feels surreal — as if the two shades of nature have merged into one.”
Another tourist, Sifat, added, “There’s always something new to see in Cox’s Bazar every season. This time, the blue lotus has truly added a fresh charm to the beach.”
Local vendor Abdullah said, “Now that more tourists are coming, we’ve started selling blue lotuses. I sell about 50 to 60 flowers a day. Many people buy them to take pictures.”
