At the beachside stalls of Cox’s Bazar, rows of glass bottles filled with colorful seashells are catching the eyes of visitors.

These bottles, packed with shells of varying shapes and hues, have become a favorite keepsake for tourists.

The blend of the shells’ natural shimmer and the glass’s transparency creates a striking piece of seaside art.

Tourists are often seen stopping to admire the displays — and many can’t resist buying one as a souvenir to take a little piece of the sea home.

Local artisans collect the shells themselves from the shore, then clean, dry, and carefully arrange them inside the bottles.

Some craft floral patterns, while others layer the shells by color, turning each bottle into a miniature reflection of the ocean’s beauty.

“I collect shells every day and prepare them in the afternoon to sell at the beach,” said Sultan, a local vendor. “Tourists are showing great interest lately, and the price is quite affordable — between Tk 100 and Tk 200.”

A visitor from Dhaka shared his impression:

“These bottles are so beautiful — it feels like taking a piece of the sea back home.”
