Captain Sohel, a long-time resident of the tourist city, has spent nearly three decades in Cox’s Bazar despite originally coming from Pabna district. He dreams of developing an international-standard water sports park stretching from Hacerhi Point to Himchari along the Marine Drive Road. Starting his journey on a speedboat two decades ago, he has witnessed the gradual rise of water-based activities at sea. With services like banana boat rides, jet skiing, and parasailing now gaining popularity among tourists, he believes a dedicated water sports zone could further boost tourism. He hopes for government support to turn his vision into reality along the world’s longest natural sea beach.
