Coconuts remain in high demand across all beaches in Cox’s Bazar, leading many locals to turn to coconut selling as a livelihood. However, the improper disposal of coconut husks is causing environmental pollution along the shores. Instead of using designated waste areas, many sellers and visitors are leaving coconut husks scattered across the beaches, tarnishing the natural beauty of the coastline. Several tourists have expressed disappointment at seeing the beaches littered, while local environmental activists and visitors have called on the authorities to take swift action to address the issue. These photos were taken at Mollartek Beach in Cox’s Bazar.
