Monsoon in Bangladesh paints nature in a new light — lush greenery, overcast skies, and the rhythmic patter of rain. But while the season offers beauty, it also brings hidden dangers, especially in hilly regions. Every year, tourists fall victim to landslides, road collapses, and sudden downpours in the hill tracts during this time.

Experts now advise that Cox’s Bazar, with its flat terrain and abundant natural beauty, is a safer and more enjoyable alternative for monsoon travel.
Home to the world’s longest unbroken sea beach, Cox’s Bazar has plenty to offer even during the rainy season — rolling waves, misty horizons, gentle drizzle, and a dreamlike coastal charm that enchants visitors.
Karim Ullah Kalim, General Secretary of BAPA’s Cox’s Bazar district branch and also of the Hotel-Motel Guest House Officers Association, told Cox’s Bazar Life that during the monsoon, the soil in hilly areas becomes unstable, increasing the risk of landslides.

“It’s safer for tourists to avoid such regions during this time. Instead, destinations like Cox’s Bazar offer both safety and serenity,” he added.
Currently, the weather in Cox’s Bazar remains favourable, and local hotels and resorts are offering attractive monsoon discounts. Whether for a family getaway, a friends’ trip, or a quiet solo escape, Cox’s Bazar presents an ideal option.
