The shimmering blue waters of the Bay of Bengal have drawn throngs of eager tourists to Cox’s Bazar, as the beach city buzzes with tourists during the extended 10-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday. On the fourth day of Eid, beachgoers could be seen revelling in the ocean’s salty embrace and capturing joyful memories in the golden sands.
With time off from work and studies, families from all across the country have flocked to Cox’s Bazar to soak in the vibrant coastal atmosphere. Some were diving into the waves, while others took to the sands for snapshots or playful games.
“This year’s Eid holidays are longer, so we decided to come with the whole family. The crowd and excitement here make the vacation even more special,” shared a tourist.
Industry insiders report that over 500 hotels, motels, resorts, guesthouses, and cottages across Cox’s Bazar are already fully booked. From June 12 to 19 alone, more than half a million additional tourists are expected to arrive, with occupancy for this period already reaching 80 per cent. Altogether, tourism operators anticipate at least 700,000 visitors during the 10-day Eid vacation.
