Cox’s Bazar District Debate Association has formed a new executive committee to promote debating, develop logical thinking and foster a culture of responsible expression and reasoned discussion.

The organization’s 11-member advisory council approved the committee, which took effect on Saturday, October 10. It will remain in office until a new approved committee is formed.

Sanjidul Islam Mahin, a student of Cox’s Bazar City College, was named president, while Fahmida Hasan Heva of Cox’s Bazar Government College became general secretary.

Rodsi Hossain Hridi of Cox’s Bazar International University was appointed spokesperson, and Sadia Akter Sadia of Cox’s Bazar Women’s College was named organising secretary.

Former divisional debater Moin Uddin Rakib and former national debater Rajin Saleh serve on the organisation’s moderator panel.

The association brings together higher-secondary and university students from eight educational institutions across the district. It aims to engage young people in debating, intellectual activities and reason-based discussions.
