The Cox’s Bazar Press Club organized a special prayer session (Doa Mahfil) in remembrance of those injured and killed in the recent plane crash involving students and staff of Dhaka’s Milestone School and College.
The event took place on Saturday (26 July) at the Press Club auditorium, presided over by Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman. The session was moderated by Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman, the club’s Sports Secretary and Vice President of the Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union.
The prayer session was conducted by Abdul Khaleq Nizami, Khatib of Badr Mokam Jame Mosque in Cox’s Bazar. Prayers were offered for the departed souls of the victims, for the speedy recovery of the injured, and also for the late founding members of the Cox’s Bazar Press Club.
Among those present were founding member SM Aminul Haque Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Press Club Momtaz Uddin Bahari, newly elected President of the Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union Nurul Islam Helali, NTV district correspondent Ikram Chowdhury Tipu, senior member and lawyer Advocate Abu Siddique Osmani, and Banglavision district correspondent and Cox’s Bazar Television Association President M.R. Khokon, along with several other senior journalists and media leaders from Cox’s Bazar.
