A three-day celebration of the 46th National Science and Technology Week, the 9th Science Olympiad, the 9th Science Quiz Competition, and a seminar, will begin in Cox’s Bazar on May 21.

In preparation for the event, a planning meeting was held on Thursday (May 15) at the Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam Conference Room in the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin chaired the meeting, which was organized by the District Administration.

In his remarks, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the theme of this year’s celebration—”Conquering the world through knowledge and science.” He announced that the three-day event will be hosted at Baytush Sharaf Jobbaria School and College premises on May 21, 22, and 23. He encouraged spontaneous and enthusiastic participation from all quarters.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Saiduzzaman Chowdhury, Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, and other stakeholders also spoke at the meeting.

Government and non-government officials, heads of educational institutions, and teachers from across the district were in attendance. The meeting informed attendees that science—and innovation-based stalls from schools and colleges across all nine upazilas of Cox’s Bazar will be featured in the event.

To ensure smooth execution, several decisions were made, and sub-committees were formed during the meeting.
