The District Information Office in Cox’s Bazar has reported significant progress in its publicity and public awareness campaigns highlighting government development initiatives.

At a press briefing held on Thursday (21 May) at the Cox’s Bazar Press Club, District Information Officer Md. Abdus Sattar said the office has implemented extensive outreach programmes over a 180-day period from 17 February 2026 to 21 May 2026.

He said that during this period, the office organized 9 courtyard meetings and community gatherings, 2 women’s assemblies, 1 family gathering, 1 youth assembly, as well as discussion meetings, ethics development sessions, and quiz competitions.

In addition, the office conducted 405 screenings of films, documentaries, and TVCs, along with 47 street campaigns and loudspeaker announcements, and 48 online awareness activities.

The briefing also highlighted that key government priority programmes—including canal excavation projects, family cards, youth cards, and the New Smart Poster 2026 initiative—were directly communicated to the public through live coverage and event broadcasts.

The campaigns also focused on issues such as administrative reform, democracy and nation-building, anti-corruption efforts, women’s empowerment, poverty alleviation, environmental conservation, social harmony, and preservation of cultural heritage.

Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, Journalists’ Union Cox’s Bazar President Nurul Islam Helali, and other local journalists were present at the briefing.
