In a historic feat for the Bangladesh Scouts Cox’s Bazar District Rovers, eight Rover Scouts have successfully completed a 150-kilometre walk from Cox’s Bazar to Chattogram as part of their quest to achieve scouting’s highest honour — the President’s Rover Scout Award.

Carrying three key messages — “Cleanliness, Tree Plantation, and Service are Rovers’ Commitments,” “One Tree, One Life – Let the Earth Flourish,” and “No Over-Speeding – Drive Safe to Prevent Accidents” — the team began their journey on September 14, 2025.

Their five-day trek concluded on September 18 at the Chattogram District Commissioner’s office, where the campaign officially ended.

The team comprised Rover Mate Mohammad Ehsan, Rakib Uddin Babu, Assistant Rover Mate Safayet Karim Onik (Cox’s Bazar Government College Rover Scout Group); Rover Mates Faizun Nessa Masiat and Asmaul Husna (Girls-in-Rover Group of the same college); Durjoy Rudra and Aditya Bodua (Cox’s Bazar City College Rover Scout Group); and Sifatun Nessa (Ramya Mukta Girls-in-Rover Scout Group). They were accompanied by Inspector Shabina Chowdhury Priya, Girls-in-Rover Leader of CRCD Mukta Rover Scout Group.

The route covered Eidgaon (30 km), Chakaria (25 km), Lohagara (39 km), Patiya (38 km), and finally the Chattogram District Commissioner’s Office (22 km), totalling around 154 km.

“This journey was anything but easy, but with courage and determination, we made it,” said Rover Mate Mohammad Ehsan, describing the trek as challenging and emotionally rewarding.

During their march, the Rovers also engaged with locals to raise awareness about road safety, environmental protection, and community responsibility — turning their journey into a public service mission.
