Rows of colorful hats lining the shoreline markets greet visitors to Cox’s Bazar beach. Among them, the fedora straw hat is the most popular choice. Lightweight, comfortable, and sun-protective, the hat has become a must-have for many tourists.
Shops along the beach offer a wide range of straw fedora hats in various colors and designs. Some visitors buy them to shield themselves from the heat, while others choose them as a stylish fashion accessory. Vendors report significant sales increases during the winter season, when tourist numbers peak.
According to sellers, fedora straw hats are priced between Tk 100 and Tk 400, depending on design and quality. “Straw-designed fedora hats are currently the best-sellers,” one shopkeeper said. “They are affordable, attractive, and suit everyone.”
For many tourists, the fedora straw hat has also become a keepsake—something to remember their time at Cox’s Bazar, blending practicality with style along the world’s longest natural sea beach.
