Every morning at dawn, Himchari Beach in Cox’s Bazar comes alive with the rhythmic hustle of fishermen at work.

Even before the sun rises, they gather in teams along the shoreline, pulling in large fishing nets cast into the sea.

Battling the rolling waves as they haul the nets ashore, the scene reflects both the hardship of livelihood and a strikingly beautiful moment that captivates onlookers.

The fishermen often reveal a variety of marine fish as they draw in the nets.

A successful catch brings visible relief and smiles to the fishermen’s faces.

Many say that when the weather is favorable, this early-morning labor largely determines their household income for the day.

Local fisherman Abdullah explains that much of their family earnings depend on this dawn-to-morning effort when conditions are calm.

However, he adds that rough seas and unpredictable weather sometimes force them to take significant risks just to secure a catch.

The fishermen also note that during the peak tourist season, despite the growing crowds along the beach, the net-pulling ritual has become a focal point of interest for tourists.

This, they believe, has increased public curiosity and respect for their work.

Alongside locals, many tourists gather on the beach to watch the fishermen in action, with some capturing the moments on camera.

The sea, the rising sun, and the labor of the fishermen together create a powerful blend of nature and human life—making dawn at Himchari Beach a truly unique and memorable experience.
