After braving the rough waves of the Bay of Bengal, fishermen in Cox’s Bazar are now finding it easier to bring their trawlers ashore—with the help of tractors.

On Monday morning, a tractor hauled a large fishing trawler onto the sand at Sonar Para beach, attracting curious onlookers.

Local fishermen recounted the arduous task of pulling boats ashore in the past. Dressing a heavy vessel onto the sand often took 10 to 12 men several hours.

With tractors in use, the task has become much simpler and quicker.

Fishermen said it costs around Tk 500 to pull a large fishing boat ashore with a tractor.

The sight of tractors towing boats has become increasingly common along the Cox’s Bazar coast.

Villagers and children often gather to watch the process, fascinated by the giant machines at work.

According to locals, this small yet significant technological shift reduces physical strain, saves time, and makes fishing a livelihood more efficient along the coastal belt.
