Local fishermen are busy with their daily catch in the canals adjoining the Bay of Bengal at Himchari, Cox’s Bazar. Kamrul Islam, a 30-year-old fisherman, spends his time fishing to support his family. They sell any surplus catch beyond their needs in the local market. Similarly, fellow fishermen Robiul (27) and Mostafa (40) share a similar story, who echo Kamrul’s sentiments. For them, fishing is more than a source of income; it is a way of life, inextricably linked to the rhythm of the sea and their families’ needs.
