Nazma Akter Reshmi, a young woman from Kolatoli Adarsha Village in Cox’s Bazar, has turned adversity into opportunity.
Overcoming social and economic barriers, she has emerged as a successful entrepreneur — and now she’s making headlines with a groundbreaking product: healthy chips made from fish.
On Tuesday (September 16), Reshmi officially launched her unique creation, “Fisho Tuna Crackers,” at a prominent hotel in Cox’s Bazar. Speaking at the event, she explained that the idea was inspired by a simple yet urgent need — better nutrition for children.
“Most potato chips available in the market are made with unhealthy ingredients and can harm children,” said Reshmi.
“My chips are made with fresh tuna and poa fish, ensuring quality through lab testing,” she added.
Packed with protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential nutrients, the fish-based chips aim to be more than just a tasty snack.
They promise real nutritional benefits while appealing to children who often refuse to eat fish.
“I want every child to have access to these fish chips — so they can enjoy both taste and health together,” Reshmi added with hope.
Her initiative has already earned praise from local entrepreneurs and food industry stakeholders.
They believe such women-led ventures could open new opportunities in the country’s food sector and promote healthier, locally sourced alternatives.
Reshmi emphasised that the chips are suitable for children and anyone looking for a healthy, protein-rich snack.
She also hinted at plans to introduce more innovative fish-based foods.
