The village of Goalia in Ukhiya has transformed into a lush green paradise this season. Endless stretches of young rice plants sway gently in the breeze, painting the fields in vibrant shades of green.

As the morning sunlight glistens over the tender seedlings, the landscape looks like a living canvas—nature’s own masterpiece.

Farmers have now fully immersed themselves in their seasonal activities. Some are tending to their fields, while others are busy weeding and maintaining the crops.

Local farmers say that with favourable rainfall and weather conditions this year, they are expecting a good harvest. However, the rising costs of fertiliser and labour remain a concern.

Still, the farmers of Goalia remain hopeful. “When we see the fields full of green seedlings, all our exhaustion disappears,” said one smiling farmer, his eyes reflecting both hard work and optimism.
