The final month of the Bengali calendar, Chaitra, is ongoing, bringing intense heat and clear signs of the approaching summer. During this time, a different scene is emerging along the roadside trees of Marine Drive, Cox’s Bazar, where countless green mangoes can be seen hanging from the branches.

In the ongoing Chaitra period, the trees lining both sides of Marine Drive appear revitalized. Clusters of raw mangoes on nearly every branch are catching the attention of passersby and tourists alike. From a distance, the small green fruits look like natural ornaments adorning the trees.

Many visitors are stopping to take photos of this scenic view. Others are sharing these moments of natural beauty on social media. The unique combination of sea waves and mango-laden trees is creating a captivating experience for visitors.

Local youth Iman Alor said that this scene appears every year during Chaitra. However, favorable weather conditions this season have resulted in a better yield. In the coming days, the green mangoes will gradually grow larger and eventually begin to ripen.

Local traders said that small-scale trading of these mangoes begins as the season progresses, creating additional income opportunities for many. At the same time, it has become an added attraction for tourists.

With the heat of Chaitra and the abundance of green mangoes, Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar now reflects a vivid picture of summer, signaling that the sweet season of ripe mangoes is just around the corner.
