The Mermaid Café along Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive is emerging as a new attraction for tourists, not only for its seaside setting but also for its unique, greenery-filled experience. Surrounded by lush gardens of vegetables and flowers, the café is drawing visitors seeking both tranquillity and healthy dining.

A visit to the site shows rows of banana, bottle gourd, papaya, aubergine, Thai herb, and chili plants cultivated across the café premises.

The vibrant presence of colorful flowers further enhances the setting, creating a lively and visually appealing atmosphere.

Tourists said that enjoying meals amid such natural surroundings brings a distinct sense of comfort.

One of the café’s key highlights is its use of freshly harvested vegetables from its garden. These are incorporated directly into the dishes served to guests, enhancing both taste and nutritional value while ensuring organic, healthy meals.

Harunur Rashid, manager of Mermaid Beach Resort, said that visitors to the café are highly impressed by the green initiative.

“We try to use fresh organic vegetables from our garden in preparing dishes preferred by our guests. This satisfies them and motivates us,” he added.

He also said that there are plans to expand vegetable and flower gardens across different parts of the café in the future, which is expected to further enhance its appeal to both local and foreign tourists.

With its unique combination of sea views, greenery, and wholesome food, Mermaid Café is gradually establishing itself as a distinctive destination on Cox’s Bazar’s tourism map.
