As the Bangla calendar’s final month of Chaitra brings intense heat, people across the country are seeking relief, with many flocking to Cox’s Bazar sea beach. Despite the scorching midday sun, many visitors immerse themselves in the cool waters of the Bay of Bengal.

Although tourist numbers have declined somewhat following the Eid holidays, the beach has not lost its vibrancy. Those visiting are primarily turning to sea bathing to escape the oppressive heat. The rolling waves, cool sea breezes, and saline water offer a sense of comfort and refreshment.

Sourav, a tourist from Dhaka, said that the heat during Chaitra is often unbearable. “But after coming to Cox’s Bazar and getting into the sea, it feels much more comfortable. Playing with the waves makes me forget the heat. With the Eid crowd gone, the environment is calmer, which makes the visit even more enjoyable,” he said.

Hasan, a small local trader at the beach, noted that although the overwhelming crowds seen during Eid are no longer present, a moderate number of tourists continue to arrive daily. “Many tourists can be seen going into the sea, especially around midday,” he said.

Despite the hot weather, the ocean’s vastness and beauty continue to attract travelers. The sight of blue waters and sandy stretches offers an instant sense of relief from fatigue.

Even amid the harsh heat of Chaitra, Cox’s Bazar remains one of the country’s most appealing tourist destinations.
