Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed is scheduled to visit Cox’s Bazar on a two-day official tour on July 17 and 18 to assess the post-flood situation and oversee relief operations in the flood-hit district.
According to the itinerary, the minister will leave his residence in Dhaka for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:00am on July 17. He is scheduled to depart for Cox’s Bazar by air at 9:50am and arrive at the resort town at 10:50am.
After arriving, he will visit flood-affected areas in Chakaria upazila, where he will inspect the situation, distribute relief among affected people, and review ongoing relief operations. He will have lunch at the Chakaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office at 1:00pm before resuming visits to flood-hit areas later in the afternoon.
The minister is scheduled to stay overnight at his residence in Pekua.
On July 18, he will inspect flood-affected areas in Pekua from 10:00am before visiting different parts of Matamuhuri upazila around noon to observe the post-flood situation and relief distribution activities.
He will later have lunch at the Cox’s Bazar Circuit House before leaving for the airport in the evening. According to the schedule, he will depart Cox’s Bazar for Dhaka at 8:30pm and is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:10pm.
