Bright sunshine has brought tourists back to Cox’s Bazar’s scenic Marine Drive, where the dramatic meeting of hills and the Bay of Bengal continues to captivate tourists from across the country.
Tourists were seen travelling along the iconic coastal road from Kolatoli to Teknaf’s Zero Point, stopping at popular attractions including Darianagar, Himchari, Crab Beach, Sonarpara Beach, Inani and Patwartek.
Many explored the route in open-top tourist jeeps, locally known as Chander Gari, while others opted for CNG-run auto-rickshaws and electric three-wheelers.
Stretching between lush green hills on one side and the vast expanse of the sea on the other, the Marine Drive offers one of Bangladesh’s most spectacular coastal landscapes.
The clear sky, refreshing sea breeze and panoramic views have made it one of the most sought-after destinations for travellers visiting Cox’s Bazar.
Visitors said the opportunity to experience both the hills and the sea along a single route was rare and made the journey particularly memorable.
One tourist said, “It’s difficult to find a place with such stunning views of both mountains and the sea.”
The entire drive is breathtaking. It feels as though nature has crafted this place with extraordinary care, the tourist added.
Tourism operators said the return of sunny weather had encouraged more people to explore the Marine Drive, with visitor numbers gradually increasing after days of rain.
They expressed hope that favourable weather would continue to boost tourist arrivals in the coming days.
