Horse riding along the sandy shoreline continues to be one of the most popular attractions for tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar, offering a memorable way to enjoy the scenic beauty of the world’s longest natural sea beach.
Rows of brightly decorated horses can be seen on the beach, particularly in the afternoon, drawing tourists’ attention. Children and adults alike enjoy riding along the shoreline, travelling from one end of the beach to the other while taking in the sea breeze and panoramic views.
Even during the monsoon season, tourists continue to enjoy horse rides whenever weather conditions permit. The colourfully adorned horses attract riders and serve as popular subjects for photographs and videos.
Riduan, who operates horse rides on the beach, said tourists usually choose horses that appear healthy, well-groomed and attractive.
‘We pay special attention to the care and appearance of the horses because that is what tourists value most,’ he said.
He added that the horses are cleaned and cared for every day to ensure they remain healthy and that visitors can enjoy a safe riding experience.
Local businesspeople said horse riding has long been a traditional feature of tourism at Cox’s Bazar. Besides providing entertainment for tourists, it is an important source of livelihood for many horse owners and handlers, whose earnings increase with the number of tourists visiting the beach.
Riding a horse along the shoreline, accompanied by the sound of crashing waves, a cool sea breeze, and a sweeping sandy beach, continues to visit Cox’s Bazar, a memorable experience for many tourists.
