The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are set to begin this Thursday, June 26, with the Bangla First Paper written exam starting at 10 AM. The exams will continue until August 10.
According to the Education Wing of the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, a total of 15,653 students are expected to take part in the exams across 36 centers in the district. Of these, 12,747 students will appear under the General Education Board across 18 centers. The Madrasah Education Board will administer the Alim exams to 944 students at nine centers, while the Technical Education Board will conduct exams for 1,962 students at another 9 centers.
Saiduzzaman Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) of Cox’s Bazar, said that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure a smooth and cheating-free examination process. “Each center will be overseen by an Executive Magistrate, and law enforcement personnel will be deployed to maintain order,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Education Board has issued 10 essential guidelines for candidates this year. These include:
- Reaching the exam center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start.
- Correctly filling in personal details and bubbles on the OMR sheet.
- Avoiding folds or damage to answer scripts.
- Using only standard scientific calculators.
- No breaks between the multiple-choice (MCQ) and creative sections.
- Absolutely no mobile phones inside exam centers.
- Students must pass separately in theory, MCQ, and practical sections.
- Candidates may only sit for exams listed on their admit card.
- Seating arrangements have been made through center transfers, meaning no student will sit for exams at their own institution.
- Attendance signatures are mandatory for each exam session.
With these preparations and rules in place, the Cox’s Bazar district is set to host this year’s HSC exams in an organized and secure environment.
