With a focus on environment-friendly training, awareness, and community participation, Jasmin Prema Technical Training Centre (JPTTC) in Cox’s Bazar has launched a special tree plantation program.
The initiative began on Wednesday (16 June) with a rally and tree planting along the main road in Alir Jahal. Trainees participated in planting various saplings in the open spaces adjacent to the training centre, pledging to contribute to local greenery.
The event was graced by Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Cox’s Bazar, as the chief guest. Also present were UNDP representative Rozina Akter, JPTTC Vice Principal Md. Saimon Islam and trainees from the ISEC project.
This initiative is not merely a symbolic act of environmental protection but is integrated into JPTTC’s technical training program. It aims to instill eco-friendly thinking, social responsibility, and the concept of sustainable development among trainees.
Participants shared that, through this initiative, they not only contributed to planting trees but also gained a unique experience in collective action, awareness-building, and a sense of responsibility toward community development.
