Tourist numbers have declined in Cox’s Bazar due to the intense heatwave, although conditions at the beach remain normal. Many tourists are cooling off by bathing in the salty seawater.

Red-and-yellow flags have been placed along the beach, indicating that the sea is currently safe for swimming.

Most tourists are entering the water at the Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha points. However, the authorities of Sea Safe Lifeguard have requested tourists to follow several safety instructions.

According to lifeguards, designated swimming zones have been marked at the three points where lifeguard services are available.

The boundaries of safe areas are marked with red-and-yellow flags or red flags. Tourists have been warned that swimming outside designated areas may be dangerous.

Sea Safe Lifeguard Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard Mohammad Osman Gani told local media that the sea is currently calm and red-and-yellow safety flags have been installed accordingly.

However, he cautioned that underwater holes and channels can still form in certain areas, making it important for tourists to swim only within designated zones with lifeguard services.

According to the tidal schedule for Friday, low tide is expected at 8:05pm, while high tide begins at 1:30pm.

Authorities also warned that ignoring lifeguard instructions or safety signals could lead to serious accidents at any time.
