Due to the active monsoon system, thunderstorms are forming over the northern Bay of Bengal and coastal regions of Bangladesh, accompanied by significant pressure differences. As a result, heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with gusty or squally winds, is likely across these areas.
In light of the situation, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised the ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.
In a weather alert issued on Tuesday morning, authorities urged all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the northern Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
Weather experts have also recommended exercising caution during marine travel and staying updated with official weather forecasts.
