A human chain was formed at Laboni Point in Cox’s Bazar demanding the closure of the ineffective beach management committee and calling for increased safety measures at the beach, organized by Voice of Volunteers Cox’s Bazar.

Speakers emphasized the urgent need to increase the number of lifeguards to ensure tourist safety on the beach. While several lifeguards are currently deployed, which is commendable, the volunteers stated that it is insufficient to cover the entire stretch of the world’s longest sea beach, which sees thousands of visitors daily.

They made a special appeal to the Deputy Commissioner to deploy an adequate number of lifeguards at every point on the beach to protect the lives of tourists. Additionally, the volunteers urged all visitors to Cox’s Bazar to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines while enjoying the beach.

Humanitarian activist Imran Hossain Nabi moderated the event. A welcome address was delivered by Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, a volunteer from Voice of Volunteers Cox’s Bazar.

Speakers at the human chain included S M Sujauddin Suja, central leader of the National Citizens’ Party; Mohammad Hossain, board member of Cox’s Bazar Blood Donors’ Society; and members of Voice of Volunteers Cox’s Bazar including Zakir Hossain, Saiful Islam Bappa, Arifur Islam, and Rafiqul Islam, among others.
