Small and medium-sized marine fish of various species are now being caught in abundance close to the shoreline, without the need to venture into the deep sea. Hashem, a fisherman from the Dariya Nagar area, said they can cast their nets just beyond the last wave using small boats or traditional wooden dinghies. Since morning, Hashem and his team have cast their nets six times and caught around 9kg of fish, which they will sell in the local market. Despite the wet weather and rough sea, the catch has brought smiles to the fishermen’s faces.
