A preparatory meeting was held in Cox’s Bazar to ensure the observance of Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day 2026 with due respect and solemnity.
The meeting took place this morning in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdul Mannan. Participants paid deep tribute to the memory of the language martyrs and decided to undertake necessary programmes and preparations to observe the day in an orderly and dignified manner.
President of Cox’s Bazar Press Club, Mahbubur Rahman, along with officials from various government departments, addressed the meeting. Speakers emphasized that all programmes would be implemented properly to convey the spirit of the Language Movement to the younger generation.
During the meeting, all participants were urged to strictly adhere to the National Flag Rules while observing the day.
Participants expressed hope that through collective efforts, this year’s observance of Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day would be meaningful and memorable.
