Professor Amirul Anwar Chowdhury has joined as the new principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College. He officially took charge on Monday (July 14) afternoon, receiving responsibilities from the outgoing principal, Professor Md. Solaiman.
To mark the occasion, the Teachers’ Council formally welcomed the new principal and bid farewell to the outgoing principal. The event, organized by the Teachers’ Council, began with recitations from the holy scriptures and was conducted by Joint Secretary Salah Uddin, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Management.
In his speech, Principal Professor Amirul Anwar Chowdhury sought the sincere cooperation of all in advancing the college’s academic and infrastructural development. Outgoing Principal Professor Md. Solaiman also shared his reflections during the event.
Professors from various educational institutions of Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram aslo spoke at the event.
It is noteworthy that on July 2, the Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Division appointed Professor Amirul Anwar Chowdhury as principal of Cox’s Bazar Government College.
A 14th BCS (General Education) cadre officer, Professor Chowdhury began his teaching career in 1993 as a lecturer in the Department of Management at Haji Abdul Baten Government College, Sandwip, Chattogram.
Since then, he has served for nearly 31 years across various government colleges in the Chattogram division.
