Intermittent rain and cloudy skies have added a new dimension to the visitor experience at Kakra Beach along the Marine Drive Road. As rainwater filled nearby canals, local resident Hossain found an opportunity to help visitors reach the beach more comfortably by ferrying them across a short water crossing for a small fee. The beach has been drawing groups of tourists eager to explore its famous crab habitat and expansive casuarina forest. Tourists walk along a wooden jetty stretching about 300 metres from the road before reaching a small water-covered section near the end. Many prefer taking the boat ride to stepping into the water, making the crossing a memorable part of their visit.
