Rows of coconut trees lining both sides of the main road along Shaibal Pond in Cox’s Bazar town have emerged as a soothing green ornament of nature, drawing the attention of visitors and locals alike.
As commuters pass through the area, the sight of the tall coconut trees instantly catches the eye, filling the mind with a sense of calm and beauty.
The open sky, sunlight filtering through green leaves, and the quiet presence of the pond together create a serene and pleasant atmosphere.
Tourists, particularly in the morning and late afternoon, often stop to take in the scenery. Many park their vehicles to take photographs, while others spend time strolling beneath the shade of the coconut trees.
Tamim, a tourist from Rajshahi, said, “The sea is, of course, the main attraction of Cox’s Bazar. But I didn’t know there was such a beautiful place inside the city. The rows of coconut trees are truly soothing to the eyes.”
Another tourist said that passing along the road and suddenly encountering such a natural scene completely refreshes the mind. “It feels like nature is still very much alive and thriving within the city,” he added.
Local resident Adnan Boken said that the coconut trees along Shaibal Pond enhance the area’s beauty and make the city’s environment more comfortable. “Along with tourists, local pedestrians get to enjoy this touch of greenery every day,” he said.
Locals believe that this harmonious blend of nature and urban life gives Cox’s Bazar an identity beyond being just a sea-based tourist city, presenting it instead as a green, aesthetically pleasing urban space.
