Today is Pahela Falgun, the first morning of spring. Joining hands with Valentine’s Day, February 14, the day becomes a celebration of colors, fragrance, and emotion.
What the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka initiated in 1991 has grown into a nationwide celebration of spring.
This year, the story takes place in Cox’s Bazar, where the sea, hills, and flowers all greet the season in their own special way.
With the gentle warmth of spring, the familiar landscape of Cox’s Bazar takes on a new charm. The salty sea breeze blends with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
Along the Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive road, trees awaken in fresh shades of green. The fiery red smiles of palash and the vibrant blossoms of shimul transform the roadside into a living canvas of color.
The endless blue sea is on the other side, the quiet hills are on the other side, and in between them is a beautiful display of spring colors.
In the soft morning light, birdsong, the rhythm of the waves, and the colors of flowers create a scene like a living poem.
Some tourists stop to take pictures, while others sit by the shore and quietly feel the season’s touch.
Spring is not confined to the beach alone; it flows through the heart of the town as well.
In the grounds of Cox’s Bazar Cricket Stadium, blooming palash trees stand like red torches announcing the arrival of Falgun.
The flower garden at Hotel Shaibal is full of yellow, orange, and red flowers that amaze both guests and tourists. The palette of spring seems to brush every alley of the town.
Leaving behind the dryness of winter, spring arrives with a message of renewal. In Cox’s Bazar, the season feels even deeper, as the waves of the sea and the silence of the hills blend together to give spring a dimension unlike anywhere else.
