Upon arrival at Saint Martin’s Island, visitors are greeted by its main jetty, locally known as Boro Ghat. This concrete structure serves as the island’s primary entry point, where ships from Teknaf, Inani, and Cox’s Bazar anchor to drop off and pick up passengers.

Stretching into the sea, the jetty provides a convenient docking point for vessels, ensuring smooth boarding and disembarkation. Surrounding the area, tourists can find seating arrangements, small local shops, and food stalls offering a chance to rest and savor traditional delicacies.

Current Situation

Recently, a quiet emptiness has settled over Saint Martin’s jetty. With a significant drop in vessel traffic, the once-familiar sounds of ships and bustling crowds have faded, leaving the island unusually calm.

The jetty is vital in sustaining island life as a crucial hub for tourism and the local economy. Regular improvements in its infrastructure and management are essential for enhancing the visitor experience and preserving the island’s fragile ecosystem.
