The Shah Omar Shrine, located in Kakara Union of Chakaria, is a historic landmark and one of the most revered shrines in Cox’s Bazar.
Known as a sacred place among devotees, it holds a unique status for its blend of history, heritage, and religious sentiment, symbolizing the region’s ancient culture and Muslim civilization.
The shrine complex, around 60 acres, features an Islamic-style mosque and four large ponds contributing to the area’s spiritual atmosphere.
Devotees feed various large gajol fish in the ponds, but they never catch them. The shrine’s tranquil ambiance offers a sense of divine peace, drawing numerous pilgrims every day to experience its sacred calm and serenity.
