Shahriar Azad Abir, a proud son of Cox’s Bazar, has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning a bachelor’s degree in disaster and emergency management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.

The university’s iconic cathedral hosted the convocation ceremony on Thursday at 11 AM (London time).

Abir hails from Islampur Union in the Eidgaon Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Notably, he is the first student from Cox’s Bazar to graduate in this critical field.

Reflecting on his journey, Abir shared that growing up in a coastal region like Islampur exposed him to the harsh realities of natural disasters.

This inspired him to pursue studies in disaster management, aiming to provide strategic support and solutions to his community.

He expressed his gratitude and sought prayers from the people of Islampur and Cox’s Bazar as he continued his mission to make a difference.
