The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has withdrawn the local cautionary signal No. 3 for maritime ports, citing the absence of deep convective cloud systems over the northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas. This means there is currently no likelihood of stormy winds affecting the region.

As a result, the 3-number local warning signal has been lifted for all four maritime ports—Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra.

Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Weather Office, confirmed the development: “As there is no longer any threat of strong winds in the northern Bay, the signal has been withdrawn. The sea is now calm and stable.”

It’s worth noting that the alert had been in place since Thursday due to forecasts of deteriorating weather along coastal regions. However, with conditions returning to normal, authorities have stated that there are no longer any restrictions on maritime movement or fishing activities along the coast.
