On Friday afternoon, an enchanting rainbow painted the sky over Cox’s Bazar, leaving tourists and locals spellbound.

The spectacular seven-colored arc appeared suddenly over the city around sunset on September 19, turning the sky into a natural canvas of colors.

Within moments, photos and videos of the breathtaking scene flooded social media.

After a hot, sunny day, the sudden appearance of the rainbow brought unbridled joy to onlookers.

Laboni Point, Sugandha, and Kolatoli beach visitors paused to admire the sight. Some snapped photos, others recorded videos, while many shared the moment on Facebook and Instagram to preserve it as a cherished memory.

Rafiqul Islam, a tourist from Dhaka, said, “I’ve seen rainbows many times before, but never such a clear, large, and vibrant one by the sea. It was simply heartwarming.”

A local shopkeeper noted that while rainbows occasionally appear in Cox’s Bazar, it had been a long time since such a vivid one was seen, adding to the excitement of visiting tourists.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rainbow formed as sunlight refracted through raindrops following a brief drizzle, creating a stunning optical effect.

Known for its natural beauty, Cox’s Bazar seemed to receive an extra gift from nature that evening.
