A rare blend of rain and sunlight created a striking scene over the Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach, turning the shoreline into a golden stretch of light on Wednesday evening (April 29).
As brief showers paused and sunlight broke through the clouds, the beach briefly took on a glowing appearance, captivating a few tourists. Due to adverse weather conditions, tourist numbers remained low, and lifeguard operations were also scaled back. Red flags were hoisted, advising visitors not to enter the sea.
A tourist from Dhaka said he had never witnessed such a scene before. “Rain and sunlight together made the entire beach look golden. It was an unforgettable moment,” he said.
Another visitor described the experience as memorable despite the unsettled weather, noting that the natural contrast added a unique charm to the trip.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised Local Warning Signal No. 3 for Cox’s Bazar and other major sea ports amid continuing adverse conditions.
Assistant meteorologist Abdul Hannan said heavy rainfall is likely to continue for the next three days. He added that 57 millimetres of rainfall were recorded in the district in the 24 hours until 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
Authorities have urged visitors and coastal residents to remain cautious and follow safety instructions as unstable weather conditions persist.
