Cox’s Bazar’s Boro Bazar is now overflowing with fresh pumpkins as farmers from different upazilas and nearby districts arrive at the market early each morning with handcarts, vans, and pickup trucks full of winter-season produce.
With the arrival of the seasonal harvest, supply has increased notably, keeping prices comfortably within the reach of ordinary consumers.
Vendors say pumpkins are selling for Tk 40 to Tk 50 per piece, depending on size and weight. However, some buyers feel a slight price reduction would make the vegetable even more affordable for everyone.
A visit to Boro Bazar reveals piles of fresh green and yellow pumpkins stacked high in almost every vegetable shop, accompanied by a noticeable surge of buyers.
Consumers say pumpkins are rich in nutrients and easy to store, which keeps demand consistently high.
The increased supply has helped maintain stable prices, allowing people from all income groups to purchase the vegetable without worry.
