Suprovat Cox’s Bazar, one of the top sports and social organizations in Cox’s Bazar, launched the fourth season of the inter-team cricket tournament on October 27.
The opening match between Team Supravat Ichamati and Team Supravat Matamuhuri was held at 6 a.m. at the Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin Stadium.
Former councilor and past district sports association member Aminul Islam Mukul attended as the guest of honor and inaugurated the tournament. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that the youth are empowered to combat drugs, terrorism, and other social evils through sports. He praised the initiative highly.
This year’s event, “Save the River, Save the Country—Supravat is Bangladesh,” aims to raise awareness about restoring the country’s endangered rivers to their former glory.
In addition to Ichamati and Matamuhuri, teams Supravat Bankkhali and Supravat Karnaphuli and guest team Swapner Siri are competing.
The tournament will conclude with the final match on November 10 in a round-robin league format.
