Known to many as the Buddhist temple or pagoda, this admired site holds deep significance for the Rakhine community in Cox’s Bazar.
Following the Burmese conquest of Arakan in the 1790s, the Rakhine people constructed this pagoda atop Circuit House Hill, referring to it as a memorial.
Today, it attracts numerous tourists and Buddhist devotees who visit Cox’s Bazar to experience the tranquility and history embodied in this hilltop sanctuary.
Similar pagodas can also be seen across Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ramu, and Teknaf hills.
