Mohammad Zahed Hossain is a professional tomtom (battery-run three-wheeler) driver who has been working on the roads of Cox’s Bazar for the past five years. To support his family, he bought a new tomtom and customized it with great care to reflect his taste and passion. Worried about theft, Zahed recently installed a CCTV camera on the front of his tomtom—a rare move among local drivers. Zahed operates daily along the scenic Marine Drive Road, earning on average Tk 1,000 to Tk 2,000 in fares.
