With the holy month of Ramadan approaching, Cox’s Bazar is witnessing a surge in tourists. Typically, the number of visitors declines during Ramadan, leaving the beaches quieter and more serene. Seizing the opportunity before the fasting month begins, travelers are flocking to the shores to bathe in the blue waters, stroll along the sandy beaches, and witness breathtaking sunsets.
Local business owners say this pre-Ramadan period usually increases tourist activity. Many families and groups visit Cox’s Bazar to unwind before the fasting month begins, seeking relaxation and mental peace by the sea.
“We know that traveling becomes difficult during Ramadan, so we took some time off and came here in advance,” said a tourist from Dhaka. “We wanted to enjoy the tranquility of the ocean before the fasting month starts.”
Hotel and resort owners are experiencing a brief but busy period, aware that footfall will significantly drop once Ramadan begins.
Meanwhile, local authorities are ensuring a smooth and secure experience for visitors. Beach security patrols have been increased, and cleaning crews are working tirelessly to maintain the pristine beauty of the coastline.
For now, Cox’s Bazar is buzzing with excitement, a vibrant gathering of travelers enjoying the world’s longest sea beach before the calm and quiet of Ramadan sets in.
